Ash glanced down at Bleak. "Sure, don't worry about it...Son." She knew that he would be the only son she'd ever have. She hadn't thought she'd want a son, but she was happy to be Bleak's substitute mum.

Bleak smiled and rubbed his muzzle against the she-cat's cheek. "Thanks... Mother..." it was strange to call a cat mother with meaning, but the little cat liked it. He took a step back and flicked his tail. "Do you think we should be getting back now? The river is quite a ways away. Or are you going to wander off again?" Ash had vanished the first day that she had met Scratch and Bleak, but she visited. She had been visiting when Bleak ran out. "Where do you even stay when you're not visiting us?"

Ash flashed a smile and meowed, "maybe I'll tell ya later!" She wasn't about to tell either tom where she stayed. She'd let him have his secrets as long as she could have hers. "Come on! Let's go!" She bounded off, not taking it easy on her new son. She needed to see how "strong" he was!

Bleak got a confused look, then smiled and pelted after Ash. His legs had to work faster than her's, but he stayed at her shoulder perfectly. He crept close to the ground out of habit. As an assassin, he had to keep low as to not be caught by his target. His shoulder blades showed as he stalked, rising and falling with each step. His yellow eyes locked on the path in front of him, and his senses stayed on his 'mother'. They couldn't be too far away from the cave now at the rate they were running.

Ash smiled as they ran. She had o admit, Bleak was fast for his size. She loved the feel of wind in her fur and she purred. She hadn't ran like this for ages. She could see a cave pretty far away. They had made good time. She glanced at Bleak and slowed down the slightest bit.

Bleak felt the she-cat slow, and moved his legs slower. The cave was in sight. Mischief clouded the little cat's gaze and he bumped fairly hard into the she-cat to disturb her balance. Picking up the pace, Bleak lifted himself from the ground to run faster. He threw a grin over his shoulder at Ash and reached the cave. Flicking his tail tauntingly, Bleak slowly strolled in. "Honey, I'm home!" he called. He purred and sat down,waiting for Scratch.

A black male padded through the forest, looking intently for some cat. He called out, "Bleak! Bleak," but reachieved no answer. He was starting to get worried. He smelled the air. No trace of his scent. Where had he gone. He started to run. He turned the corner when the scent hit he had been looking for him like a tree. Scratch opened his eyes to see Bleak standing in their cave. He got up and stretched. "Where have you been," he asked his mate.

Bleak padded forward and brushed muzzles with the larger tom. "I had a huge breakdown and Ash followed me. After some talking, she cheered me right up!" Bleak flashed a grin over his shoulder at the she-cat. "And guess what? Ash has agreed to be the mother I never had!" Bleak smiled warmly up at the black cat. His warm smile had an apology behind it. "Sorry I flipped out at you when you were trying to help... I just really didn't want you to see me like that..." Bleak remembered how he had almost clawed at Scratch's nose when he had wondered what was wrong. Bleak had refused to let a single tear slide around Scratch, and he wanted to keep that possible.

Ash sat in the cave, smiling at Scratch and Bleak as they made up. She planned on spending some time with the toms again....if they would let her. She'd missed them, the girls back home could wait. She would ask when they were done greeting each other.

"No, it's fine I understand. I'm so happy for you! You will finally have a good mther!...No offense to your real one." Scratch turned and looked at Bleak. He saw Ash walk into their cave. "Hello Ash. How are you? I just want to let you know that taking care of Bleak is going to give us some trouble. Well, at least we can work together." He grinned at Bleak, figuring the tom wouldn't take it offensively.

ASh smiled and purred a soft laugh. She really had missed the two mouse-brained toms. "Hey....Ummm....i was wondering. Can I stay with you guys? I miss being around toms. She-cats think about nothing but toms, mating, and stupid kits!" She was referring to her cousin, over with the Alley Cats. Her name was Delilah. If Ash hated anything more than kits, it was Delilah. She really hoped they would let her stay.

Scratch was delighted by the idea of Ash staying. It would be fun. "I'm fine with it if Bleak is. It will be fun having you around." Then he thought about how violent each of them was and how they would be very deadly. "You know, even if you don't stay, since you'll be Bleaks mom, we're going to make a deadly family." He smiled at the thought of them conquering every loner and rogue. Then he thought about their new friend Equinox. He turned to Ash. "Have you, by chance, met Equinox?"

"Who's Equinox?" Ash asked, curious about any loner or rogue the couple had met that was still alive. She had never heard of a loner with that name.

Bleak had leaned up on Scratch's chest and was listening with his eyes shut as the two talked. A very small smile was on the tom's muzzle. He twitched his ear and cracked open an eye. "I don't mind if she stays! She's my mother, for crying out loud. And," he added to Scratch in a flirty voice, "no offense taken, dear..." Then, Equinox's name stepped into the matter. Bleak lifted his head from his love and twitched both of his ears happily. "Equinox is a loner we met. We caught him when he was moving to a new home in the forest. He's okay... Really calm about everything. He managed to put up with my attitude, so he's okay..."
OOC:: Sorry, I had to make Bleak flirt... My mind was screaming at me "MAKE HIM FLIRT!!!"

Ash cocked her head to the side. "Okay, I should make an effort to meet him soon. And thanks for letting me stay. I will have to leave for a few days to tell my cousin where I will be. Don't worry though, I'll be back in about three days. Well, I should probably leave now. I don't want her to frett too much. No matter how much I want to kill her."
