A black male cat rushed through the forest, sensing his enemy behind him. He ran with all his might, scared out of his fur. This tom was out to get him. The black coat streamed through the woods, heading towards Battle River. Battles often happen there, thought the black male. I can push him into the river to avoid him. But I should have known he would come some day. Seeing the river he continued forward. Reaching the river, he stopped and looked around. He couldn't spot his orange tabby enemy. He let his senses wander and soon scented the male. He had fallen behind, but the black coated male knew better. He won't be long, he thought. He figured he should hide somewhere. He padded down next to the river and put the tip of his paw in. He pulled it out quickly when he felt the cold. Looking for a spot to hide, he found a small cave-like structure farther down the bank. Sighing, he started padded towards the cave. Reaching his destination, he went into the cave and stood. Suddenly, the scent of his enemy, Scar, hit him. He gazed out of the cave and saw him, sitting by the riverbank and scenting the air. The black male came out of his small hideout of a cave and prowled up to Scar. He pounced surprising Scar and scratched his enemy with all of his might. He backed off and jumped onto Scar's back. But the orange tabby was smarter. He flipped the black cat into the river. The male screeched with fear- Scratch awoke with a sudden jolt after falling in to the water in his dream. He sat up and saw he was covered in moss. He shook it off, being careful not to disturb Bleak. He knew he wouldn't be able to sleep after his dream about Scar. He sighed, got up, and left their den. Starting for the Twoleg Nest, he ran. The cool breeze through his fur after his dream made him feel better. Reaching the Twoleg Nest, he sat down. The moonlight shown down, making the night bright and clear. He stared at the moonlight in wonder. It was so beautiful.

A twitch beside the small cat is what woke him. Opening his yellow eyes a crack, Bleak saw his lover, Scratch, making his way out of the cave. Standing silently, the small tom padded softly out of the cavern. He made not a sound as he gently drifted after the larger cat. What is he doing? The thought wormed into the little cat's mind. Shaking it off, Bleak continued to follow the wandering cat, finding the path familiar. My crying path, he concluded. The small cat often came here when his emotions were overwhelming him. He came here to cry like a kit. The Twoleg Nest loomed above them, Scratch stopping and looking at it. The moon was sending down beams of light, bringing the old place to an eerie life. Bleak decided to give himself away and padded forward sitting down next to Scratch without meowing a word. Scratch's eyes were alight with moonlight, same as Bleak's. Bleak's pelt caught the light and glowed, looking a little orange-ish rather than golden brown. Bleak sat silent and looked up at the nest, not needing to say a thing to be asking "what's wrong?"

The black coated male jumped when his mate came from behind him and asked what was wrong. He sighed before meowing, "oh, it's nothing really. I had a bad dream." He figured that he had better tell the truth to Bleak now. They couldn't start a relationship with secrets. "Bleak. There's something I need to tell you. Something about my past. Something I should have told you about before." He waited for Bleak to respond before he continued.
OOC: Gah! I used all of my muse in the first post!

Bleak listened as Scratch answered his silent question. He glanced over when the big cat said he needed to tell him something. "What is it?" he meowed gently, resting his tail on Scratch's shoulder.
OOC:: Hey, it's 2 in the morning, so... Bye bye muse...

Scratch felt comfort in Bleaks touch and smiled at his mate. He prayed that his mate wouldn't be mad at him. "Ok well before I lived in this forest, I lived in a forest far far from here. When I left my parents, I found myself with an enemy, Scar. He was fierce and fought at every chance he had, even over a spot to drink by the river. Well one day I got into it bad with him, over a big blackbird. I had caught it and buried it, and when I came back, Scar had dug it up and was pulling it away. I got mad at him and we got into a fight. We both fought with all of our might, and I won. I left him there, with severe wound, left to die. I left the blackbird. I came out of that fight with wounds that were bad, almost deadly, but I survived. I found a cave and fixed myself up, and then walked and ran far away. Then i found myself here, in a peaceful environment, and decided I liked it and stayed." He paused and took a breath, tired from speaking so much. "And then I met you. You know what happened since then." He smiled at his mate, almost glad about what had happened with Scar. If they hadn't have fought, Scratch would never of me Bleak.

Bleak listened silently. A silence that chilled the dead. Not a single emotion was showing on his face, thus not a thought could be seen. Finally, he blinked, coming back to the real world. He flicked his yellow gaze up to Scratch's. His face was still blank. Then, a soft smile broke across his lips and a purr rumbled in his small chest cavity. Rubbing noses with the big black cat, the little tabby laughed. "Scratch, I don't mind you keeping that a secret. I have secrets as well, don't worry. You have an enemy, so what? I have plenty!" Bleak grinned, his white teeth gleaming brightly. "Scratch, you have nothing to worry about. Look, if you feel better about it, I'll tell you a secret of mine." The small tom's smile faded. His memories had haunted him all these moons because of what he had done. His memories flashed to him as he told them. "When I was a kit, I never played with my littermates. I watched them. The day we were all to leave the nest, I tied my mother's paws up with vine and killed my siblings. I slit the throats of my two brothers and drowned my sister in the stream. I made her watch, I ignored her cries for me to spare them, I licked the blood off of my paws in front of her. She left then, accusing me of being a monstrosity. I never saw her again, but then my father started to appear to me..." Bleak's high mew trailed slowly. "I traveled, killing anybody that was in my way. Then, I met you and Ash at the river, and something inside me sparked... I couldn't kill you two..."

Scratch was surprised that Bleak was being so honest with him. He looked at his mate with questioning eyes. "Why did you kill them? I’m not going to leave you because of it. That was in the past. It’s behind you now. You don’t have to talk about it if you don’t want." He kept looking at Bleak, making sure he wouldn’t start to cry or anything. He figured he wouldn’t, since he had killed his sibling on purpose, but just in case, Scratch was there.

Bleak blinked sorrowfully. "Oh, Scratch, I don't know why I did it. I basically just did it to feel the blood, to feel alive. I think you-know-who was there with me, telling me how to fight. That was my first ever fight, and I don't know how I did it..." Bleak looked up at Scratch through pleading eyes. Eyes that were begging for forgiveness and compassion. He couldn't explain himself anymore. Normally, he was never asked why he killed, and if he was, the cat never lived to ask again. He remembered the first day he had met Ash. She had asked him that question, and he had said "I simply kill." He didn't even know what it meant anymore...

Scratch felt bad for Bleak. He had had a rough life, worse than him and here he was complaining. He rubbed against Bleak, not knowing what to say. "Do you want to go back to the cave? I won't be able to sleep, but I could comfort you." He looked at Bleak, figuring that he wouldn't be up for any 'action' tonight.
OOC: Sorry so short.

"Me either," Bleak mumbled, accepting the rub from Scratch. Bleak pressed close to Scratch and purred softly. "Alright... Let's go." Bleak stood up and padded away a few steps, then glanced over his shoulder to look at his mate. "Race you!" he yowled. Taking off at a full out sprint, the little tom sank close to the ground and pelted forward.

Scratch was surprised that Bleak had such energy at such a late time. He took off in the way of their cave at full speed. He quickly caught up and passed Bleak, him being bigger and faster. He laughed over his shoulder and kept running. When he reached the cave, he waited out side for Bleak. "Ha, he didn't think I was so fast," he muttered to himself.

"No fair!" Bleak whined as he appeared in the cave entrance. "You're bigger than me!" Pouting, the tabby sat down and licked a paw. Then, mischief clouded his gaze and he tackled Scratch down. "Ha!" he meowed flirtatiously. "Now, Scratch, dear, how are you going to keep me occupied if neither of us are tired? Hmmmnn?" He hummed his question and sank closer to the black muzzle.
