OOC:: This is taking place away from the forest, so no rogues from the common areas are here. As their castles crumble slowly We watch them fall The crown slips from heads unworthy As we gain control ~Rise Against It was dark. The skyline was growing faintly with vague hints of an appending dawn. The cold air was thick with silence, not even the slightest peep. The dark trees were like shadows that loomed above in thick groups, huddling for a meeting. Their unseen eyes stared heartlessly at the forest floor, watching as a figure slid forward. Bright yellow orbs were its eyes as they shifted around the area. Was this the right way? It had to be. He could feel the aura. This was...
A snapping sound echoed through the night as a clumsy forest creature lost its balance in the trees. More snapping followed, then a soft thump. A squirrel had fallen to the forest floor, now looking around in desperation. The traveling tom lowered to the ground with a cruel smile. He sprang forward and landed silently on the prey, the only sound being the snap of its neck. It went limp...
A soft chuckle was what rumbled through the large cat's throat. His tabby pelt shone in the moonlight, revealing all of the powerful muscles. Settling down, he bit into the soft body, the still-warm blood filling his mouth. How he loved the taste...

A bengal cat padded past the boundaries of the forest, looking for some prey. She hadn't found any in the forest, so she had looked further. She scented and spotted a mouse. She jumped into the hunters crouch, as Clan cats called it, crawled forward, pounced, and gave it a deadly bite. She quickly ate it all, since that was the first piece of prey she had had all day. It's nice not having to share food and wait until the elders are fed to get some, she thought to herself, admiring being a loner. She suddenly scented another cat. She followed the scent, and was greeted by a golden tabby with yellow eyes. She thought he looked handsome, so didn't stay hidden. She popped out and meowed loudly, "Hi!"

"Hi!" Her commotion stirred up the peaceful night. The tomcat sat up, his meal finished, and turned to look at her. His eyes narrowed with annoyance. "Shh!" he snapped at her. "Are you trying to wake the dead?" His ears flagged down and pushed to his skull. It was an attractive cat, but she was loud. And the tom was not interested in another she-cat to endure. "Who are you, anyway?" he asked, his meow deep in his chest. The cat's frustration grew at the thought of this bundle of joy following him to where he was going.
Looking up, the golden tabby observed that the sun would be up soon. He needed to rest. He had walking all night; being the only time he could travel. But first, he needed to break away from this annoying cat. Standing up, the tom gave one last hiss before turning and pelting away from the Bengal. Try catching and bugging me now...

Persephone smiled at the cats words. "I'm Persephone." She was confused as the tom got up and ran away. She shook her head back and forth. You just made a really stupid move, she thought to herself about the tom. She was very fast, even though she was so slim from the winter. She took off after him, and soon caught up. She jumped in front of him, cutting him off from running. "What was that about," she asked, still smiling.

Kahl hissed with fury as the she-cat cut him off. "Go away, pest! I do not need you around to bother me!" he yowled. "I have very important... business to take care of, and that can only be done in silence! That will not come with you around." He quickly jumped away and sped around her, faster than before. He tore across the grass at an almost unimaginable pace.
Pu-pum
Kahl's head pounded painfully. He skidded to a halt and thrashed his head back and forth. "Danna," he murmured pleadingly, "not now..." The pain was a reminder. Telling him to hurry and get away. He needed to get away from this cat! He kicked up his paws and ran once more, pushing himself forward as fast as he could go.

Persephone was taken aback. She was nice to him, and he kept running. He was really pissing her off. She took off after him, again, and soon caught up, again. She pounced on him this time and held him down. "What is your problem? I tell you my name and you run. I ask why you ran, you run. Tell me your name! You already know mine!" She locked gazes with him, not feeling to be kind.

Kahl, for the umpteenth time, hissed. "You do not need my identity!" he growled. "You were not required to answer the question, fool!" Another pang hit his head. He gritted his teeth to keep his composure. Damn it all! Danna, that hurts! he thought bitterly. Kicking up his hind legs, Kahl knocked the she-cat off of him. He sat up and growled. "My name is Kahl. I run because I do. Now, go away or I'll kill you." Turning, Kahl stood up and began to walk away at a slow pace. Don't do it, he warned silently.
OOC:: "I run because I do, now go away or I'll kill you" That rhymed!! I'm a poet and I didn't know it!! Haha!

Persephone let Kahl push her off of him. He started to walk away, telling her not to follow him. She smiled, knowing that he wouldn't kill her. She got up and followed him, laughing silently to herself.
OOC: Dork. And sorry so short.

A twitch of annoyance passed through Kahl's muscular body at the sound of the she-cat trailing him. He came to a stop and hung his head low with defeat. "Why?" he murmured. "Why do I--" he stopped the muttering and wheeled around, yowling, "What do you want from me? I said I would kill you, and you crossed the line..." And with that in his mind, he sprang forward at the she-cat, claws outstretched.

Persephone laughed to herself at how mad she was making the tom. She smiled. As Kahl turned around she replied, "Because it's fun... and I want to meet more cats." She said the last part with a frown. As the tom tried to attack her, she simply stepped aside. She sat there with her head hanging low, dejected.

Kahl snarled, but didn't spring at her again. "Don't come to me with pitiful requests," he growled. "I stopped with she-cats after I became a father. She turns into a bitch, and the kits annoy me." Kahl felt another pang in his head. "Mphf... Hey, can I trust you not to kill me in my sleep? I really need rest..." He shut one eye against the pain and grunted once more. His paws were beginning to hurt, causing him to shift his weight from paw to paw.

"Yeah. I won't kill you." Persephone walked away, trying to stay a certain distance from the tom. She sat down, yawned, and then layed down. She had come to realize that no one wanted to meet her, and that had just crushed her. Her parents had hated her, and she hadn't met anyone new. And when the time came that she could meet someone, they didn't like her. As she sat there, she listened intently, trying to see if she could here her heart break.

Kahl sighed with relief. So she wouldn't attack him. The wind blew faintly, chilling him. I need to be warm, he reminded himself. If he wasn't, it wouldn't work. Glancing at Persephone, he grimaced. She was the only way he would get through to Bleak. Sighing in defeat, he walked over to her and watched for a moment. Her movements were very smooth.
Lying down, Kahl scooted closer to the she-cat and rested his head on his paws. Shifting into a comfy pose, his hind legs were no longer tucked under him; they kicked out behind him. His sprawled appearance made him look rather long. Shutting his eyes, he felt the warmth of the body beside him and drifted to sleep. Let's talk, Bleak...

Persephone jumped in surprise as something touched her. She opened her eyes to see Kahl. She smiled to herself and cuddled up next to him. She knew that if she got too close he would push her away or hit her. So she stayed next to him, waiting for his reaction. It might be good, but it might be bad.
OOC: Sorry so short.

OOC:: NEXT NIGHT!!! ;D
Kahl opened his eyes to the satisfying darkness. The world was dark and stars twinkled up in the sky. Standing, the large tabby took a long, luxurious stretch. Once his tail quivered, he returned to his full height. He looked down at himself, satisfied to realize that Persephone that kept her word and not cut him up. Looking over to the sleeping she-cat, he prodded her with a paw. Why did I do that?!?! he thought with panic. What had possessed him to wake her up? Maybe because he was always in too good of a mood after he just woke up. He had given Bleak a good fright and had his fun.
"Umn," he muttered. He groped for the words to use. "If you're gonna be trailing me like a lost kit, you might as well get up."
