Twig smiled despite the news he was given. "Please don't call him Kahl. It makes me think of Bleak. He was named after my father, you know. Kahl is German for Bleak. Since their practically twins, Mother wanted to name him something close to Kahl."
Twig looked up at the night sky. "You're right. Maybe he hasn't changed." He looked over at Ash, who was walking with her eyes shut, and smiled. She sure was a pretty cat. She shouldn't be fighting. But Twig knew that she would try to claw his ears if he told her not to fight. Ash was a cat made for a good tussle.
"Ash, mind me asking where we're going?"

Twig's words woke Ash from her memories of the days with Ruby. She just managed to catch the words 'where we're going' and looked over at him, a smile of sad memories on her face. "Ruby's grave... I buried her not too far away. I guess I needed guidance. I always visit her grave when I don't know what to do. It calms me."
Ash turned a sharp corner, paused a second for Twig, and continued, ducking under numerous branches and bushes. She had her ears listening intently for the sounds of rushing water, and sped up only a little when she heard it.
"This is Ruby's burial ground," Ash told Twig, parting a bush. The curtain and walls of vegetation surrounded a small clearing. In the middle ran a small stream with a foot high waterfall, the cause of the rushing sound. Off to the top right was a large oak tree, the only tree, and under it, a large rock. The ground by the rock was the same as the rest, but that's where Ruby's body lay. Wild plants grew all around the grave, all herbs needed for healing. It was strange because of Ruby's amazing medical skills.
"Come on!" Ash called over to Twig, bouncing into the clearing with a girlish squeal. She always felt immensely young, girlie, and happy in Ruby's (dead or alive) presence.

Twig was silent as Ash explained their destination, allowing his body to slowly seep through the thick fronds that blocked their way. He flat-out cried with laughter to see Ash so... she-cat-ish. In fact, he laughed so hard he tumbled onto his side, squealing in delight. He had never expected that from Ash.
"I like Ruby already!" he purred, standing up to stride to Ash's side. He lowered his nose to the ground and brushed it over the surface. "Hello, Ruby," he murmured quietly to the body underground. If this cat could have such a positive affect of someone, they definitely deserved a formal greeting. "I am Twig, pleased to meet you."

Ash shot Twig an amused glare as he toppled over in laughter. She watched for a moment as he went to the grave, then turned to the water. She took a few drinks and went over beside Twig to Ruby's grave. She watched him silently for a few moments and laid beside the tree, just touching Ruby's grave rock. She had slept here countless times when sad, the weather was bad, or she was lonely. If it was raining, Ruby's Hollow was always dry. If she was lonely, Ruby's presence calmed her. She sighed inwardly and spoke in a quiet voice, just audible to listening ears. "Ruby... I miss you... I-I..." Ash's voice broke and she realized she'd begun crying. She glared at the falling tears that wouldn't stop. She hated crying in front of cats... this was the first time she's cried since Ruby's death.

Twig didn't budge as he watched the tears slide down Ash's cheeks. "Ash," he murmured, "you're very beautiful. Even your tears are pretty. I like when you show emotions; it shows your beautiful side." He smiled shyly at her. He sounded so cheesy. But things that must be said should be said coming from the heart, even if that heart was made of cheese. Twig's smile widened at the thought of a cheesy heart. Edible organs. Heh.
Twig finally snapped from his dairy product trance and found Ash's eyes, waiting calmly for a response. His belly was tight, waiting for some form of rejection.

Ash caught Twig's yellow gaze with her navy, the tears still running, but silently, ans she was able to look through them. Her stomach tightened and released and she felt like she was about to throw up. She figured that feeling were 'butterflies'. He called her beautiful... She'd never been called pretty or beautiful.
"Th-thank you...Twig..." Ash whispered, navy eyes very wide, mouth small. She felt her face heat up and was thankful for the fur covering her blush. Twig liked her... she hoped. He might have meant it in a truthful friend way...
"Twig... I really like you..." she whispered, dropping her gaze and feeling the heat spread down her neck. She then realized the tears had stopped.

Twig went rigid.
She couldn't have... Could she?
"I... I really like you, too... Ash," he finally managed after a forever of silence. He could feel an odd sensation tingling on his cheeks, like heat. Blush. He had heard of it before.
"I really do think you're a beautiful, cat, Ash," he murmured. "And if I had the chance to make you mine, I wouldn't waste a single heartbeat. But," the mostly golden cat looked down at himself, at the blood that was forever to spatter his coat, at the wounds that would forever tear his skin, "I'm nothing."

Ash's eyes blazed at his words and she shot him a glare. "Twig!" she hissed at him. "Never say your nothing! You're everything to me." She spoke her words with complete truth, eyes burning, the sentence was almost like an oath as she said it with such certaincy. She let her eyes dull to their normal warmth and she settled to narrowing her eyes at him. Then she walked over and settled down beside him. "Twig, the day you're considered 'nothing' is the day I'm considered StarClan itself." she whispered into his ear.

Twig felt his face begin to burn like fire as Ash whispered into his ear, almost seductively. "But, Ash," he protested, "to me, you could be StarClan itself. To the world, you may be just one cat, but to one cat, you may be the world. Ash," he added, looking at his paws, "I want you to be my world. I've never been drawn to anybody, but you" -he smiled- "you changed all of that. You chased me down when nobody would. You stayed by my side and put up with my screaming."
Twig took a huge intake of air. "Ash, I just wish that I could make you mine! I wish my brother hadn't killed me so I could actually be with you! You'resoperfectandI'veneverseenanyoneasbeautifulasyou!" Twig gasped for air to return to his lungs.

Ash listened, just managing to catch his last sentence. She looked at Twig and spoke each word clearly and deliberately. "Twig. I love you. I don't care if you're dead. If you somehow became one of the Disturbed i wouldn't care. I. Love. You. Nothing will ever change that."

Twig blinked, opened his mouth, shut it, and blinked again.
Speechless.
"Ash..." Twig blinked again. She probably had no idea how much that meant to him, but the fact that he knew was all he needed. If he turned into a Latin-speaking, murderous, lost soul she would still love his sorry tail.
Bursting into a toothy grin, the tomcat solidified and launched at Ash, crashing into her and knocking her down. "You have no idea what that means to me!" he cried delightedly, wrapping his paws around her and pulling her into an embrace. "Thank you, Ash! Thank you, thank you, thank you!"

Ash laughed as Twig began thanking her and nuzzled into his embrace. She didn't care if she's get bloody, but then a question popped into her head. She waited until the embrace ended and asked curiously, "Is it hard to make yourself solid?" She'd never met a ghost, and she was extremely curious. If the Disturbed didn't scare her, she'd ask them millions of questions, beginning with 'how'd you become Disturbed?'.

After finally letting go of the she-cat, who he found to smell amazing, he sat wriggling with happiness. His emotions didn't change a single bit at her question. "Not really. You just need to think of solid things and take the Breath of Life. Then -poof- your solid!" He smiled at her once more before brushing his nose to hers once more in his excitement.

"Oh!" Ash said softly, grinning as Twig's nose brushed her's. "Thank you..." she whispered sfotly. She was thanking him for calling her beautiful, syaing she was like StarClan to him, all of those things. She, Ash, the cat most likely to be voted as not a she-cat, fell in love.
OOC: Muse? For where art though, Muse?

OOC:: Bum, bum, bummmmm...
"Twig."
Owl's muscular body peeled out of the shadows. His violet orbs clashed against the night, glowing eerily. His mostly white coat stuck out in the black of the dark, but his translucent body made him almost seem to blend in. His expression was blank to the untrained eye, but to anyone who actually knew him could tell he was worried. His powerful body slunk over to his wriggling brother.
"What are you doing?" he demanded, his sentence structure proper when panicked. "You know it's..." Three syllables... No... He needed a different word. At least three heartbeats passed as he fought for a word. "Unsafe. It's not safe at this time of night!" Owl knew that even his younger brother wouldn't be able to see the dread in his eyes. When he had awoken, he had noticed the two gone, and instantly flushed up.
"Owl, I, uh..." Twig looked away, his yellow eyes searching for something else to look at. The spice-colored cat could never bring himself to correct terms when Owl pushed on him like this. Most likely because Owl was the spitting image of their mother. He had her eyes, and that's all one needed to feel uncomfortable under their stare. The two also held the same structure of assertiveness. Owl liked to be in charge, so did Mom. The only thing he didn't have of their mother's was her silver marks that would run through her coat like lightning, dashing frantically through her.
Owl, still scowling, sat. Stop it, Owl. He'll never know this way.
