She stood on the edge of the lake. The fog swirled around her like it was a living thing, ruffling her soft, grey fur. Her grave blue eyes surveyed the lake before her. Her eyes were older than one would expect of a kitten, but then, she had been a kitten for a long time. Soul stepped forward off the bank, she waded into the lake until she was submerged up to her throat, the icy water lapping at the burning pain around her throat. Soul made a small noise of relief as the cold water soothed the deep gouge around her neck where she had been hung. She had been coming here since she had died, which had been many seasons ago. She didn't know exactly how long she had been dead. She hardly cared. All she knew was that it soothed her, and that the bottom of the lake was a great place to hide. It had taken Soul a while to get over her natural dislike of water but eventually the pain had won out. She was now as comfortable in the water as a fish, considering she was already dead. Soul stood still in the water, resenting the fact that she would soon have to get out. 'Never stay in the same place to long, or I will find you.' She jumped and hissed in fear. It was coming back then. She had been expecting it soon. The voice in her head had disappeared since Soul had met Shrill, but she had been waiting for it to come back. She liked to know where it was. The 'it' was the thing that kept her moving. The shadow in her mind. With an exhausted sigh Soul pulled herself out of the lake. The waster stuck to her pelt, flattening it against her skin, revealing how much she had suffered before she had been given the gift of death. The water revealed what her fluffy fur usually hid. Her ribs prominent against her skin, every bone showing. Her front paw was black, like it had been horribly burnt, as was her tail. And of course she had an extensive collection of other wounds. Thank anything that wanted to be thanked for her fur that hid most of what had happened to her. She really wasn't in to be stared at.

A Scottish fold she-cat padded through the forest, ignoring the fact that her feet were getting soaked from the dew. Normally she would worry she would get sick, but it didn't matter anymore, since she had died. Almost nothing effected her, only the strongest of blows, or when she was solidified.
She was going to the Lake for a drink of water, not sure if her mate was going to follow her not. She had woke him up and told him, but she thought he had fallen back asleep.
Reaching her destination of Fog Lake, she gasped quietly when she saw a mere kitten come out of the water, and ducked behind a bush. She regretted it when she noticed that it was a ghost, just like her. She came out from the bush, and walked down to the kitten. She saw the she-kit had scars, and felt sympathy for the kitten.
When she reached the kit, she said, "Hello. I'm Hibiscus. Who are you?" She peered at the kit with her violet eyes, waiting for an answer.
OOC: It's night, right?

>Yup, it's night<
The small grey kit paused as she heard a slight rustle, she shrieked in shock as another cat appeared, if her fur hadn't been sticking to her skin she knew it would of been puffwed up. She took two hasty steps back then after getting to a more comfortable distance she surveyed the other cat. She was a ghost to, which comforted her some what. With wide blue eyes Soul stared up at the adult she-ghost, as she spoke her name and asked for hers in return. "I'm (Hack) Soul" She said softly, furious that she couldn't manage even a simple sentance without being interupted by her mangled throat. Soul licked at her chest fur nervously, trying to make it puff up so it could hide her injuries.

The she-cat smiled at the kitten.
"Hi. What are you doing out here so late? I needed a drink of water." To show she didn't just come down to freak the kitten out, Hibiscus walked over to the water and lapped it down. A satisfying chill went through her body, and she welcomed it.
Walking back to the kitten, she sat down, figuring her mate wouldn't mind if she stayed awhile. He's probably asleep anyway... she thought to herself.

Soul was quiet for a moment before she answered, she wasn't going to say what she had really been doing, soothing her injuries, but she wasn't a liar and wasn't about to start. "I just (cough) like the (Wheeze) water." She watched as Hibiscus went to the lakes edge and drank from the icy water. Soul sat down slowly after the other cat did, her eyes were grave as she watched her. The blue-grey cat before her didn't seem hostile so she decided to stay, just for a while, until the voice pushed her on again.

The Scottish fold nodded to the kit. She looked around and it made her wonder where the kit lived.
"So where do you live?" After she asked, she realized that she was kind of being a pest.
Hibiscus said, "You don't have to answer that if you don't want to," looking away.
OOC: Sorry so short... my muse is like... gone

>Don't worry, we all have those days.<
Soul looked up at Hibiscus, her grave blue eyes had changed to fear to curiosity. It was always that way. She usually ran away at the first sight of anyone. Taken by surprise she usually waited a moment to gouge the chance of her being chased. If the new cat or animal wasn't acting in a threatining way she was more liable to stick around.
The grey kitten smiled slightly at the scotish fold's question then hastily added comment. "It's (Cough) fine, (Hack) I live no (Wheeze) where. I just (Gasp)wander. (Choke)" Soul paused to regain her breath, she waited for a moment before continuing just in case her throat decided to give out on her. "You (Wheeze) look like (Cough) you live somewhere (gasp)." She paused again thinking. "Not meaning (Choke) to be (Hack) rude, but how(wheeze) did you...." Soul had to stop in order to cough violently. After she managed to get breath back into her lungs she continued, "Die. You don't (cough) have to (wheeze) answer that (hack) either."

The she-cat felt sad that the small kit-ghosts didn't have a home, but she did look fine, so she didn't let it bother her.
When the kit asked her how she died, she answered, "No. I don't mind. Well, my parents murdered me. When I was around six moons old, I saw them kill my sister, and ran off. Eventually the fear of meeting them again faded. But that didn't stop them from coming. Somehow they found me, and killed me. I don't really know why. Was it because I saw them kill my sister? I really don't know." She paused, and then said, "What about you? You don't have to tell me if you don't want."

Soul blinked sadly at Hibiscus's explanation of her death, she hadn't really known her mother before she died, and her father had been non-existent in her life. So she wouldn't know how parents were supposed to be, but she knew that they were supposed to love and care for their young, not kill them. She went quiet as Hibiscus posed the same question to her, the usual, hollow feeling in her stomach and the freezing dread that always came along with any mention of her death. She shook it off quickly, "I (hack) was (cough) murdered too" She said, purposefully not going into detail. It seemed unfair after the other ghost had told her, but her death still made her want to crawl away and hide.
>Sorry, my muse kept dying.<

The she-cat stared at the kitten. She hadn't gone into detail about her death, but she didn't have to. It wasn't really her business. Hibiscus didn't mind telling. She had gotten used to it over the past few months.
Turning her head to look at the lake, then the sky, she said, "So, do you travel alone?" realizing the kitten was alone at the moment and had no home, she smacked herself in the face. Duh she was alone. "Sorry. That was a stupid question. I wasn't really thinking."
OOC: don't worry. Mine was too.

Soul smiled at Hibiscus, getting over her initial fear. "That's (cough) fine, and yes (hack), I do wander (wheeze)alone. I don't (gasp)mind it (hack)though. It's (cough) peaceful." She drew her burnt tail over her front paws and gave her slowly drying pelt a couple of quick licks to speed the process up. "What (wheeze) about you (choke) are you (wheeze) alone?" Soul put her head down and breathed deeply, regaining her breath.

The she-cat smiled at the kittens words. Spoken like an elder, she thought to herself.
"No, I travel around this area with my mate, Adder. We live around here and never travel far away. Do you normally stay in this area?" Hibiscus tilted her head slightly, then looked up at the sky. The moon was slowly going down, and she could see a slight glow from the sun rising. Where did the night go, she pondered to herself.
"Want to come back to my den for a while and talk? It's going to get hot out if we don't go somewhere."

Soul put her head to the side and watched as Hibiscus looked upwards. She felt happy that the other ghost had a mate and going back to a den sounded nice.... but then there was Adder, the shecats mate. Soul didn't do well with others, especialy not males. She didn't know why, she had a vauge memory that there was a reason behind her fear but it had been so long ago that she couldn't remember. She hesitated and looked around wearily. "Ummm, I (cough) don't know, (wheeze) what is your (hack) mate like?" She didn't want to say no completely, Hibiscus was a nice cat... or ghost.
>Sorry, my muse died during the end. Also I'm at school so I can't read the chat box. Just in case.<

Hibiscus was some-what confused by the kittens question.
"What do you mean, what is he like?" She paused, thinking. "Well, for starters, he's really nice. He didn't ask me why I was dead for a while, and if you don't want to tell him something, you don't have to. Also, he's not a ghost."
Looking at the kitten again, she said, "Is that what you wanted to know? Or was it something different?"
OOC: Sorry my muse is low

Soul hesitated, looking down at her paws for a long while. Sure, the cat, Adder, sounded alright, but there was still that insistent fear of anyone new, a fear which doubled, scratch that, tripled, when it came to males. "I (Hack) guess (cough) so...." She trailed off uncertainly and looked towards the rising sun, she looked around quickly, regardless of what she felt, she had to get under cover before someone that wasn't so friendly found her. "I guess (Wheeze) I could (gag) stay for (cough) a little (hack) while." Soul took in deep breaths to re fuel her starved lungs and to give her aching throat a rest.
