And the clouds above moved closer Looking so dissatisfied And the ground below grew colder As they put you down inside But the heartless wind kept blowing, blowing
~Linkin Park Deep inside the dark of night, a set of yellow eyes glowed with triumph. Flexing the long claws that sprouted from undersized paws, a small tom cat licked his jaws, cleaning the blood that spattered his muzzle. Casting the deep yellow gaze to the ground where a body, rapidly loosing its heat, lay doubled up and still. A vicious grin spread across the little cat's face. He won. I win. Memories flashed across the blank eyes. Water, claws, bubbling screams, and blood. The insane cat's grin simply grew wider, giving the look of a Twoleg that was put into a large pelt that wrapped around them. They were crazy. "I win. You shouldn't have chosen to fight with me." the high pitched voice rang softly and icily around the clearing. Snorting contemptuously, the little cat padded softly over to the black river, twinged red from the fight. Bending his head down, Bleak shut his eyes, a rare sight, as he lapped gently at the cool water. It washed down his throat, leaving him chilled to the bone. He loved it.

Scratch walked along, going to get some water when suddenly he saw a small cat. He approached the cat, and he could see it was a male. He stopped when he saw blood on the cats paws and a dead body. He came to the conclusion that this cat had killed the other cat. They had probably both wanted a drink from the river, but got in an argument or something. He watched the cat drink and meowed to him," who are you?" He didn't say his name, seeing as the other cat was quite handsome. He waited patiently for a response.

Ash sighed as she picked her way through the forest. She hated getting water from here, too many cats were around. But this river had been the closest one. Ash stopped before she came into sight. There she saw three toms. One was drinking water, the other was talking to him, and the last one was laying on the ground. Dead. Which one killed him though? Ash gulped, she didn't know if she should try to get some water now.

Bleak pulled his lips back as another cat approached him. Not lifting his head far from the water, Bleak opened his eyes. "Look, if you don't want to end up like him, I highly suggest not speaking to me. Beat it!" he snapped. Taking a couple more laps at the water, the little cat looked at the cat he had just told off. It was a big cat. And a tom. Great. If he gets ticked, I'm gonna get clobbered. Bleak told himself. The black tom seemed to tower over the little tabby. He was one of the biggest cats Bleak had seen. Puffing out his fur to look bigger, Bleak lay crouched, glaring fiercely through blank yellow eyes at the sitting up tom. flexing his claws, Bleak couldn't help but itch for a better fight. The other rouge hadn't fought correctly, so he had lost his life as punishment. There was another scent in the air, and the small tom knew that another cat lurked in the brush. Drat. What if that one's with this big guy? I'm in it deep if they are...

Ash crouched near the bushes and scrubs, trying to stay hidden. She knew that if either tom decided to pick on her, she was done for. She may be fast, and strong, but she was small and she ws a she-cat. Toms were a lone she-cat's worst fear. They were normally larger, stronger, and more territorial. Ash knew they would scent her soon, but if she tried running now, they may see her. So she crouched, blue eyes wide, waiting.

"I'm not going to leave because I have every much as right to be here as you do. I will only fight if you attack first. I just want a drink." Scratch leaned down to get a drink but snapped back up when he suddenly scented another cat. Oh great, he thought. He leaned down to get a drink again and started to lap up the cool water. It ran down his throat, giving him a happy feeling.

Bleak growled and gave a hiss of irritation, but didn't argue. Rising to his paws, the tom gave a long stretch until his tail quivered. Sighing with pleasure, Bleak called out, "You can come out now. I know you're there." The cat that was hiding was foolish enough to be sitting with their scent blowing towards the river. Turning around, Bleak glared into the bushes where wide, feminine, blue eyes watched.

Ash realised suddenly the cats probably weren't going to kill her. Hearing one call out she narrowed her blue eyes. She stood up, and stalked out, her eyes narrowed and her claws unsheathed. She didn't trust any of these cats. She watched their every movement as she asked, "who are you two?"

Scratch kept drinking until he heard the other cat call out 'come out here' to the she-cat hiding in the bushes. The black male lifted his head and waited for the she-cat to come out. He watched her come out. She asked who they were and Scrath figured that the other rude cat wouldn't go first. So he meowed, "I'm Scratch. Who are you?"

Bleak thumped down onto his rump and licked a blood covered paw. "Bleak," he meowed to the she-cat. So... Scratch. He had the other tom's name now. Scratch would regret that one day. Switching paws, Bleak busied himself while he waited for a conversation to start between the two strangers. I'm out of here as soon as I'm clean, he thought, but something deep in his stomach wanted to stay. But the little tom never listened to his gut.

Ash glared at the tom licking his paws. "SO, you must be the murderer of the poor cat over there." She said, flicking her tail towards the dead cat. "Too bad, we need ore cats around." She sat down as far from the toms as possible, "I'm Ash..." SHe paused and added in a snarl, "Tease me and my name and I will slit your throats!"

Scratch knew the little she-cat was serious and not just joking around. "So are you here to insult him for killing another cat or are you going to get some water?" I'm leaving as soon as I'm done drinking he thought. He hoped that Bleak and Ash would leave soon so he could lay in the warm sun. It was a warm day.

"To drink, and ask one question." Ash meowed, turning towards Bleak. "Why did you kill him anyway?" As she waited for the reply, she walked over to the river. Ash closed her blue eyes and bent her head down. There she lapped up water, pausing every so often to lick her lips.

OOC:: Beechy, it's night time...
Bleak rolled his eyes and scooted over slightly to let the she-cat drink. "Why did I kill him?" Bleak swung back his head and laughed. "Why were you born a cat? I simply kill, idiot." Bleak's icy yellow eyes slid to the body that lay limp. "He was too foolish," he mewed. Standing, Bleak stalked over to the body and lifted the cold head with one paw. "You shouldn't have charged into me like that," he meowed. "Underestimation of one's size is a terrible way to die, isn't it?" Dropping the head, Bleak watched the partly open eyes for one moment. They had been violet. But now, they were glazed over and sightless, never to see day light again. Turning back to Ash, Bleak meowed, "I saved him. Whether you think so or not, I saved him. He wasn't ready for this world."

OOC: Yes it is......
IC:Scratch listened to Bleak about how he didn't kill the cat and he deserved to die. Man, he is so hot, he thought to himself. He would be a good partner. Too bad he's probably not gay... He wondered if he was. Scratch didn't want to ask if he was because if he wasn't...well it wouldn't end well.
